YOUR Amazing E-Mails About The Smithereens At Carnegie Hall!

Hey Pat,

I just wanted to let you know that I attended the benefit show last night at Carnegie Hall and you guys were awesome as ever!

Sorry I didn't get the chance to say hello.

I had to leave right after but it was a great night of music for a good cause and you and the other fellas were a big part of it.

How about that Severo taking over the lead on Won't Get Fooled Again!

Thanks again for giving of your time and talent and providing us all with a memorable night of music.

Be safe in your overseas travel and I hope to see you in April.

Sincerely,

Steve M.

Wow, Pat, of all the acts that performed at The Who tribute, The Smithereens really captured the essence, the spirit, the attitude of The Who and their music.

Congrats!

What a class act.

I'm glad I witnessed The Smithereens at Carnegie Hall.

Lookin forward to the Memorial Day Extravaganza.

Talk to you soon

Eddie

Hi Darling , was transported to NYC last night, lucky me!

Saw you at Carnegie Hall, you guys were absolutely incredible.

You rocked!!!!

Hope you saw your standing O.

It was only achieved by a few.

I was sooo happy for you.

I expect a grand review in the Times.

Our Love to you!

Vaso & Felia

PS

So proud of you

Good morning - Brian may have dropped you a note already, but your set was smokin' last night - it sounded great.

And Sev cracked us both up during the "jam session" at the end - he was holding onto that mic stand like his life depended on it!

I could swear he threw Bobby McFerrin an elbow!

Take care, and ta ta for now!

The whole evening was great.

You guys rocked as usual...really enjoyed Jason Isbell and Bettye LaVette doing "Stormy Monday" at the party.

Patti Smith was interesting and ripping the strings off of her guitar was OK, but the 3 gob shots on the Carnegie Hall stage was a bit much.

I mean, Patti - you're 63.

The mid-70's was a long time ago and CBGB's is closed.

Knit a quilt or something.

Good luck getting back on the road.

Talk to you soon.

GREAT SHOW -

Thanks so much for having me on board.

See you soon. We still need to go out for pizza one night when you are home.

P:

To be candid, the show was pretty lame until The Smithereens kicked it in the pants and woke up the crowd.

You guys were men among boys and I think everyone wanted to hear more from you.

You definitely received more applause than the other bands, both when you were introduced and after you finished playing.

The balcony was seeded with Smithereens fans, including your friend Beetle Tommy - the Beatles cohort who plays "Here Comes The Sun" on his Taylor guitar.

He sat three rows in front of us, to our left.

Others up there clearly showed up just to see you guys.

You rocked.

It was hilarious to watch Severo make the most of his time on stage during the finale.

Is there a stage big enough for him?

Bobby McFerrin trying to get to the mike and Thrilla having none of it, boxing him out like a basketball player fighting for a rebound.

Sev was absolutely f*ing hilarious at the end.

Love the hat, man.

See you soon.

Brian

Pat-

Thanks for hooking us up. Bob and I had a great time.
